Premier League 2024-2025 R8 Update & R7 Report.

R8 Update.

The data model is up to date to reflect the previous round's results. Anyone can now request predictions for round 8 of Premier League.

R7 Report.

Well, this report is the reason it was a good week. The production model hit a 70% (0.7) success rate. The experimental model demonstrated some very interesting results. Let me describe what happened and then look into its success rate.

The experimental model for round 7 indicated for two games that the second most probable outcome was tied with the third most probable outcome reflecting a volatile balance between the two teams.

So I decided that I would take the position of a user who has that result on hand and had to pick a choice. Taking into account those choices I have achieved a 90% (0.9) success rate where I have missed the one out of the two games I had to make a choice. Not bad at all.

This of course means that the model got right the other 8 games.

This is the second data point where the experimental model outperforms the production model, yet it is still not enough to deploy it.
